I would recommend waxed if you have speed hooks and unwaxed if your boots have all eyelets. Speed hooks could possibly catch and snag unwaxed flat laces. These are strong Nylon flat laces which are much tougher than the typical cotton flat lace. Aglets are 4mm

so I would recommend only waxing the ends

These laces look greenish gray

It will take away any shine or luster the laces have

If laces aren't waxed they will need to be double knotted
