This deep one of a kind pattern is achieved by hand painting a resist on the steel I have cut out and then placing them in an etching solution. I have added great depth and texture to them by way of a technique that makes the copper I have started with look like it has been corrugated

They dangle from sterling silver hoop earrings with a hinged post

They measure 3" in length and 3/4" in width at the widest part

The piece is then carefully and thoroughly cleaned by both scrubbing as well as pickling (immersing in an acidic cleaning solution kept warm in a crock pot)
