Ani L'Dodi Wrap RingApril 2015 14 karat white gold This ring is a reproduction of a ring I first made in 2009. The original came out beautifully, but I'd always wanted the chance to make it again as I acquired better tools and improved at my craft. Fortunately for me, a client fell in love with it and asked me to make her a copy. The text that runs the circumference of the ring is (ani l'dodi, v'dodi li), which translates to "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."

Because my wife doesn't wear a lot of gold

The understated clasp includes a safety latch

which is a Japanese style of mixing metals by folding them together to get a woodgrain-like pattern—a process similar to the creation of Damascus steel

I took scraps of 14k and 18k gold and balled them up with a torch

it also turns out that while steel supplies abound
